Citizen Paul Currier has filed two initiatives which would allow the people of California to re-write the State Constitution. There are no special interests behind the filings and the formula could change many laws that have all but bankrupted our state. California Constitutional Convention Articles 36 and 37 are the best of three plans that I reviewed. The timing is perfect.

Bahrain cannot be a member state of the Arab League, and Arabic cannot be the official language of the insular state. The indigenous majority speaks Farsi, adhere to Shia Islam, and cannot accept the Pan-Arabist tyranny that English colonial gangsters worked hard and for long to install via their stooges, namely the besotted, ignorant, barbaric and alien elements who migrated from the peninsula in order to be properly used by their anti-Islamic masters.

Last week, in the midst of President Obama's efforts to push unprecedented expansions of federal regulatory authority through Congress, North Korea's bellicose threats of nuclear annihilation, and the Iranian regime's brutal campaign to suppress political dissent, the American public's attention was focused elsewhere.
On June 25th, 2009, the nation plunged into mourning upon learning of the tragic deaths of Michael Jackson—inimitable King of Pop—and Hollywood's original "angel" Farah Fawcett. In the time it took for a commercial break, the coverage of the Iranian protests, the debates about cap and trade and healthcare reform, and the diplomatic efforts to recover two American journalists being detained in a North Korean prison all but disappeared.

Throwing inflated dollars at a "problem" won't alleviate the problem and will cause even more dependence on Big Government. Infrastructure can be built without those billions funnelled out by bureaucrats.
Michael Jackson's memorial service will take place on Tuesday 7th July at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. In a moving gesture to his fans the Jackson family have stated that 11,000 thousand tickets will be freely distributed to the public.
It is expected that this historic event will surpass the public interest that was seen for even Elvis's and Princess Diana's funeral put together.

Pakistani intelligence agency ISI [Inter Service Intelligence] continues to patronize and support anti-Indian notions by funding any group extending support for Kashmiri separatists while Iran continues massive propaganda against Israel through its own missions in a number of nations. In Bangladesh, Iranians are spending huge amount of money in promoting anti-Israel and anti-US sentiments. All around the world people are talking about and grieving about Michael Jackson's untimely death. He made huge contributions to the music and dance world. Yet he seemed to lead a somewhat curious, larger-than life life, one full of drama, illness, questions...lingering even now...why so much plastic surgery, how much debt did he leave, how much money did he leave, who are the real parents of his kids? Let us also recognize everyday the sacrifices other have made in the past and those who continue to do in the present by serving our county in all capacities.

Bahrain is set to introduce sweeping education reforms to bring its standards on a par with the international norms. This follows the submission earlier this week of recommendation by the government-appointed Quality Assurance Authority for Education and Training.
Come to think fo it, how many countries in the world, much less the Third World, would go for an all-out assessment of the true worth of its education system? In many countries, a giant like India included, education hardly figures near the top of the government´s agenda of governance.

The "Spirit of Humanity" ship with 21 persons on board was intercepted around 2:00 am Wednesday morning, but it refused orders from Israeli naval ships to stop and turn around. About twelve hour later, when it was just a few miles away from Gaza's maritime space, the Free Gaza ship was boarded, and then forcibly towed to the Isreli southern seaport of Ashdod. The cargo was impounded, but Israeli officials say it will be transferred by them to Gaza after it passes inspection. The passengers and crew are reportedly still being held by Israeli immigration authorities, and may soon be deported.

When Nicolas Sarkozy was elected to the Presidency of France, he was carrying the profile of a tough, neo-conservative politician; mainly as a result of his hardcore stance during the 2005 Paris riots. THE President of Somalia, H.E. Sharif Sheikh Ahmed, called a press conference in State House on June 27, 2009.
During the press briefing, he stated that Somalia has fallen into the sphere of influence of the al-Qaeda after the Muslim party and the Al-Shabaab group had become stooges of the al-Qaeda.
They (Al-Shabaab and Muslim group), the president charged, was working in cahoots, or had brought foreigners who were engaged in creating chaos and confusion in Somalia and the whole world.
President Sharif attacked Sheikh Dahir Awes- leader of the Muslim party for allegedly being a destructive element that has no conscience of humanity or feelings over the plight of the Somalis.
In his press statement, Sharif congratulated the people of the Djibouti and their president on the occasion of their Independence day.
President Shariff left on June 30th this year to participate in the meeting of African Heads of State in Libya.
The Somali agenda for the meeting is to demand the deployment of peace- enforcing forces under the umbrella of the African Union (AU), and mandated by the UN Security council.
At the same time, the Al-Shabaab group predicted that the arms given to the Transitional Federal Government (TFG) by the American administration, would be a gift to them (Al-Shabaab group) adding that it is a "blessing that came from infidels who are enemies of Islam".
The Al-Shabaab´s statement was issued by spokesperson Sheikh Yakub Hassan in Kismayu.

It is amazing how some Ethiopian intellectuals or those in the Diaspora in general seem to love living as "Hostages of history" to use President Isaias Afwerki´s phrase, on the recent interview he gave to Ethiopian Review/Ethiopian Peoples Patriotic Front websites.
When I read the article titled "The way forward for Ethiopia and Eritrea", by Shaleka Dawit Weldegiorgis, I thought it was the reincarnation of TPLF's Sebhat Nega recent interview by sounding more caring for Eritrean people than the EPLF/ELF freedom fighters ever were! Today's world of science, technology and research can rightly be called a knowledge-crazed one. Every nation, irrespective of her size, state of development or level of wealth, is striving hard to advance in education, science & technology, and via these crucial factors, to realize her dream of development and prosperity.
While some nations have progressed fairly encouragingly in their pursuit of educational excellence, others are lagging behind despite their long awareness of the importance of knowledge. Their inability to achieve excellence in education and research can partly be attributed to factors such as poverty and natural catastrophes. However, factors other than these are usually responsible for the misfortune of nations. One of most instrumental factors of backwardness and poverty is, no doubt, the absence of a wise and sincere leadership.
Qatar, being one of the most blessed portions of the earth, is gifted with enormous natural wealth. It rests on probably the world's largest mass of natural gas, and possesses substantial oil reserves. Fortunately for the people of Qatar, the country has also been gifted with an intelligent and forward-thinking leadership.
Among the many marvels that the Qatari leadership has accomplished over the past one and a half decades is the redevelopment of education in the country. The government has not only succeeded in overhauling and upgrading the pre-existent educational infrastructure and systems but has also hit her strides in introducing a range of new means and possibilities of advancement in the field.
Among these achievements is firstly the creation of the supreme Education Council and its brainchildren – the government-funded 'Independent Schools' and the implementation of 'Annual Assessments' student learning and school performance – in the country. The creation of the SEC can be considered an historic landmark of Qatar and is expected to play a consequential role in the revampment of primary, intermediate and secondary phases of education.
Under the Independent Schools system, the government has taken a hands-off approach as regards the policies, system of instruction, aims and objects, curricula etc. of the schools. Functioning under the four principles of autonomy, accountability, variety and choice, the schools to formulate their own regulations, devise their own strategies and set their own targets.
Secondly, the standardisation of Qatar University – the prime national institution of education – is an important milestone. The university has been brought on par with international universities in infrastructure, facilities, academic programs and systems of instruction. The role of this development for the realisation of higher education and research standards is indispensable.
Thirdly, the establishment of Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development and its flagship project – the Education City – is of epoch-setting significance. The Education City in particular bears the greatest amount of hopes. The staggering number of select American universities and other technical and research institutions in the City is bound to open new pathways for the redemption of the 'education dream.'
Lastly, the opening of numerous foreign universities, colleges and training institutes scattered elsewhere in the country is no less momentous as regards the educational uplift of the masses. They are playing their individual roles and are expected to play an increasingly larger part in outshining Qatar as a centre of education, scientific and technological research as well as an epicentre of arts and culture.
These developments have made the national education system and infrastructure truly reflective of the national educational aspirations and requirements by achieving evenness with international standards. Furthermore, the opening of such an overwhelming number of world class institutions with world class facilities and systems has brought Qatar at the forefront of the education race not only among the GCC States but also in the Middle East, North Africa and South and Central Asia.
The emergence of education in Qatar has brightened the opportunities of education tourism for the Peninsula. It has given birth to a potential prospect for Qatar to stand on the same footing as any other educationally advanced country in attracting aspirant students from around the world.
It is, however, notable that to promote Qatar as a sure centre for education tourism for the entire Gulf region and beyond, certain initiatives will be highly desirable. They include efforts to control the spiralling cost of living in Qatar and bringing the current cost of living drastically down. It will make it possible for students from poorer countries to choose the Education City or some other institute instead of opting for a destination elsewhere.
Another important step that will entice students from these regions can include generous aid and education loan packages. As a greater proportion of Qatar's workforce comes from the Middle East and South Asia, prospective students from those regions can be provided with loans on the same terms of serving for a specified period in Qatar as the ones provided to the expatriate population of Qatar. This can be done especially for medical, engineering and other technical spheres of studies whose scope is expected to either rise or remain steady for the next couple of decades. It will be one of the best long term investments and will ensure steady provision of skilled manpower to the monetarily stout nation.

INDEPENDENT-MINDED Mr Fredrick Rono is now leading a quite and peaceful life as a farmer at his land in Trans-Nzoia district, Western Kenya, having led an increasingly turbulent and problematic life, years back during the Daniel arap Moi's administration.
Daniel arap Moi was President of Kenya for 24 years in a protracted characterized by serious allegations of Kleptocracy, nepotism, tribalism, political assassinations and heavy crushing of dissenting opinions by ruthless state agents.
It was during Moi's reign which came to an end in the year 2003, that frightening amounts of money amounting to billions of shillings, were reportedly stashed away in foreign accounts by Moi's henchmen, in a greedy and inhuman move that propelled these sycophants to prodigious wealth, with negative repercussions on the economy that was left pathetically dilapidated.
Ex-civic leader Fredrick Rono who had been a champion of the interests of the Nandi community-which Moi detested, was a marked man during the past regime, and often found himself on the wrong side of the law owing to his outspokenness on issues affecting the community that had been marginalized by the previous powers.
He had also endered himself to great Nandi heroes, among them the late Anglican bishop Alexander Kipsang Muge and the former minister for Agriculture Kipruto arap Kirwa, who had been identified as critics of the Moi Government.
Rono served as councilor for the Kibomet ward in the Kitale municipality from 1992 to 2002.
He had also endeared himself to the firebrand lady politician Philomena Chelagat Mutai, who was a former Member of parliament for Eldoret North for nearly a decade, after having been elected to parliament at the tender age of 24.
Rono, who was noted as a courageous and firm politician during his heydays, had also been in the forefront of a crusade to declare Nandi heroes believed to have perished in mysterious circumstances, as martyrs.
These leaders included Bishop Muge who died in a bizarre road accident in 1990 on the Eldoret/Turbo road as he was returning to his base in Eldoret town, after a controversial but triumphant visit to Busia.
Others were the late fiery member of parliament for Tindiret constituency Jean – Marie Seroney, the Late Mosop legislator Robert Tanui and Nandi Catholic priests Tom K. Leley and Michael K.

What sort of nation licks the arsh of this kind of guy to the tune that they do and has no problem with tent cities and the state of the poor and the fortunes of the ones who have a car wreck or aneurysm completely change their lives?

The Dark Side of investing beckons like a Siren's song, luring the majority of professional advisors away from the safety and simplicity of The QDI. Institutional propaganda, projections, predictions, and hype have the same affect on unsuspecting boatloads of speculators who most often become shipwrecked on the derivative rocks.

Smith had long pondered how to draw media attention and the President to the UFO "phenomenology problem" -- a flying saucer or two landing on the White House lawn on prime time TV would probably do the trick -- although crashing the White House gate has become more than a metaphor in the post 9/11 world.
All joking aside, Smith had been so concerned that his friend Pandolfi may have known something about 9/11 in advance that he made a statement to a female Special Agent at the Baltimore Office of the FBI days later.
Perhaps he should have sought out the Secret Service instead.

The mammoth 1,500 page cap-and-trade bill passed quietly in Congress on Friday amidst the talk of health care and the death of a pseudo-pop star. Most members of the 111th Congress never read the bill which includes the largest tax increase in American history.
Once the Senate takes up the bill after the summer break, staffers are expected to unearth regulations that could place a stranglehold on all U.S. businesses causing massive new taxes.

We've heard of John Yoo and Alberto Gonzales, and maybe even Jay Bybee. Some of us recall John Ashcroft, Michael Mukasey, and even David Addington. William Haynes, Stephen Bradbury, and Douglas Feith occasionally make the news. If I had any say about it all 40 of these facilitators of torture would be universally known -- plus the eight more that readers of this article will call to my attention and angrily accuse me of trying to cover for by only being aware of 40. I would also make universally known the fact that two of the worst now work for President Barack Obama.

The recent Greek postal service interference with the minority party Vinozito is symptomatic of the Greek government attitude towards minorities. Given that this type of attitude is unlike the majority of western countries, maybe we should again question whether Greece deserves to be considered 'Western'?

We wake up in the morning to hear and watch the newest tragedy that has swept the world´s media attention. One morning it is the tragic crash of an airplane, the next some contested elections that turn violent as people revel.

This is a tale about a tale, filled with spies, lies, and polygraph tape.
The core of this story involves high level government intelligence persons and SERPO, a "soap opera" about US government contacts with an extraterrestrial alien intelligence.
For some, SERPO may be an entertaining work of fiction, virally amplified to mythic status by the Internet.
For others, including a high level official the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, former CIA analyst Ron Pandolfi, and Kit Green, another former senior CIA division head who consults on national security issues of rapidly advancing technologies for the DIA TIGER Committee, more may be at stake.

Because general practitioners are not well schooled on management of this group of patients, they feel they have little to offer. Nearly 85% have requested more knowledge, such as clinical guidelines, diagnostic tools, and more research into the pathophysiology.
